Forgiveness, so pure,
Untouched, unsoiled
Unsullied, she soars.
Forgiveness symbiotically
Residing in Peace,
A seed within,
Beckoning our reach.
Her song beguiles,
Unheard, she cries
Patient, unmoving
Through her grace,
May we rise.
Unyielding in purity,
Woven in truth,
Forgiveness, a gift,
Serenity the proof.
To the beholder
And those who bask in her light,
Reaching for forgiveness,
Through suffrage and slight.
Within my grasp,
Never obtrusive,
Unencumbered by ego,
Ever-elusive.
Forgiveness takes not
Offense, nor slight,
She, never a slave
to the notion of “right”
Clinging tightly,
Fingers strained,
Holding her dearly,
I release the pain.

This is probably the most beautifully written poem I have read in a LONG time! I can get lost in the words. Your message is powerful and beautifully depicted through the form of poetry. If there was ever a doubt, this poem clarifies that you are gifted with a talent and ability to express yourself through the written word. I was sincerely moved by this and cannot stop reading it. I completely relate and think it is worth more than a passing glance by anyone. Powerful, profound and moving! xoxoxox I am obsessed with this! 🙂

This is just beautiful.
“Forgiveness, a gift”
Powerful words. Not just a gift to the one we forgive, but to ourselves so we are not tangled up in bitterness.
Well done.

This is sincerely one of the most beautiful, deeply heart-felt poems I have ever had the pleasure of immersing into. This has left me in contemplation of my own understanding of the word.
A brilliant breath of fresh air.

I may just hug you through the screen. You are an eloquent one. Both, poet and wordsmith. So a nod from you has completely made my day/night/insomnia session! Thank you 😘

You are most welcome, Victoria. Your response had caused me to blush, but a comfortable one at that. I have sent a link to this wonderful poem to my daughter’s email. I do believe she will find it as profound as I have.
I join you in this night of insomnia (3rd day for me now), but writers like us know in these quiet times of darkness, the quill speaks and the monsters roam.
Your WordPress site has been bookmarked most earnestly. 🙂

What a beautiful and touching poem – captures so much about forgiveness – expressing it in ways I’ve not heard before. More powerful than a sermon. Blessings to you Vicky!

Wow! Powerful. This struck a chord deep within me because of real life experience that involved me asking for forgiveness. If I had read it when you orginally wrote it, I’m not sure I would have been as moved by your words. I’m sure I would have enjoyed it but not to the extent that I do today.
